Our Founder & Principle Investigator
Founder & CEO Jerod Breit serves as ex’s principle investigator. His decades of experience in law enforcement, insurance investigations, student conduct, counterterrorism operations, public and crisis relations and legal operations, combined with his non-profit experience as a Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director place ex’s value far ahead of the competition. Unlike the alternative options, his work with victims and survivors of violent crime should convey his commitment to his clients.
As a law enforcement professional, he investigated countless homicides in the Homicide Division of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He served as the Team Leader for the Technical Analysis Group which was responsible for starting the first Real Time Crime Center focused on intelligence led policing. He served in the Gang Unit in one of America’s most dangerous cities linking criminal enterprises and securing both state and federal convictions.
Asked to serve in the Office of the Chief of Police and Intelligence Division he became the Department’s first Federally Certified Protective Service Operations Detective by the Department of Homeland Security, Counterterrorism Division, Protective Service Operations, graduating from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center PSOTP. He served as a liaison with the US Secret Service, US Capital Police, Department of Homeland Security and worked with the US Coast Guard as well as countless local and state agencies across Missouri and in multiple other states.
During his professional law enforcement career, his successful investigations consist of:

Protective missions, protective intelligence and counter surveillance

He was a six-time recipient of the Chief’s Letter of Commendation, seven-time recipient of the Award of Excellence, five-time Officer of the Month and was the 2009 recipient of the Officer of the Year.
In the private sector he focused on national insurance investigations, claims, misconduct and led deposition work, litigation coordination, and coordinated information among insurance groups and legal teams.
He worked with more than 100 Universities and colleges across the country on student conduct investigations ranging from death investigations to campus sexual assaults and hazing to criminal allegations. His work in prevention education training spanned dozens of universities and diverse student bodies.
